Hi again,
As I mentioned I bought few days ago a 125 CBR 2011.
I am doing some servicing on it.
I have a problem about torque values, i am not sure of what we are talking about...
couples serrage.jpg
In this table I know what is a bolt, a nut, not sure about a screw : because sometimes I can't see differences between bolt and screw I assume this is only a mater of head form. I'm a mechanic engineer and what I call bolt would be a screw + a nut ... at least in france we say that.

Can someone explain me or post photos of :
a SH Flange bolt ?
a 6 mm flange bolt (8mm head, smal flange)

Any idea why in the left table, 6 mm nut need 10 N.m and in the right one they need 12 N.m ?
I know the difference is not that big but yet I'm curious.

Thank you

Hi Zigomatix,
a flange bolt looks like this:
https://www.amazon.com/1-0-Flange-Bolt- ... B00R1UUSE0
In french: boulon de bride
a normal bolt: boulon
a nut: écrou

I don‘t know why there are differences with the torque values

salut
Chris

hi Chris, thank you,
I made mistake with the question, I was wondering what is "SH" ?
That would explain why "normal 6 mm bolt and nut" need 10 N.m and "6 mm flange bolt and flange nut" need 12 N.m but "6 mm SH flange bolt" need also 10 N.m

See you
Patrick

Hi Patrick,
me again ;)
sh means serrated head.
a picture:
https://www.albanycountyfasteners.com/3 ... 060000.htm
this has more grip on the underside,
a normal flange head is flat on the underside.

Chris

the info in that table is a bit puzzling, I guess there is a mistake.

Its more clear in that table from the German NX250 manual. On the left side are bolts (hexagon head) without flange.
on the right side are screws, which are bolts that are screwed in with a screw driver.
Also given are bolts with flanges, which withstand more torque. For instance: M6 10Nm and M6 with flange 12Nm.

A special case are (e.g. at engine covers NX250) small head M6 bolts also with flange (9Nm)
