Yes, the XRV650 is supposed to have the same brake caliper. You just have to be careful, the XRV has right and left calipers
What they all have in common is that they are usually very difficult to disassemble due to corrosion.I f needed, I have a few tips on how to pull that off without explosives
.

I see that both NX650 and XRV650 brake calipers are getting expensive!

Re: My Honda NX250
After inspecting the rim I bought, there is damage around the valve hole, and I can see the aluminium is corroded and starting to delaminate.
I have been in touch with a swedish company who can build wheels.
The look I am going for in the end is a street scrambler-ish style. Will be fitting NX650 forks with appropriate tripple trees also.
In the rear I want to have 17" x 3,5" rim and 130/80 /17 tire. A bit meaty look.
Found inspiration for the rear wheel here:
So, I am debating wether to go for 17" or 18". Also not sure about rim/tire width. The narrowest they have is 2.15, but they also have wider.
Also searching for a NX650 fron caliper, ebay wants blood-money for them these days.

In the front, my gut feeling says 17", but @scrambler mentioned that it might be unstable/twitchy.

Re: My Honda NX250
sorry about the corroded rim; that’s really annoying. Unfortunately, it happens often with used rims. Regarding the front rim width: 2.15" works without issues, and so does 2.50"—the latter is available as an MT rim with safety humps viewtopic.php?t=2794
Regarding tire width, keep in mind that there is limited clearance within the fork; things can get tight even with a 100mm-wide tire. If you are set on an 18-inch rim, a 100/90-18 would likely be a good compromise between handling and stability. You can check the various widths and diameters available for the BT46 here https://www.bridgestone.com/products/mo ... tail/pr176.

Thanks for the reply, I`ll see if I can get ai to create an image with 17 rear and 18 front to illustrate.scrambler hat geschrieben: Sa Sep 26, 2026 8:46 am sorry about the corroded rim; that’s really annoying. Re: My Honda NX250
Is it possible to see from this picture if this will fit the NX650 forks?

Re: My Honda NX250
One more tip regarding the new rims: before disassembling the wheel, you should measure the distance from the rim to a reference point—such as the edge of the brake drum. If you want to install a wider rim, you need to know the width of the stock rim; otherwise, the wheel builder won't know how to center the wider rim. I once failed to take this into account, and the new rim ended up being laced with a significant offset .

Re: My Honda NX250
That looks like the right brake caliper. I don't know if you've done this before, but a used brake caliper is difficult to disassemble. If there's no rush, I could provide you with one that's already been taken apart.tberset hat geschrieben: Sa Sep 26, 2026 7:19 pm Is it possible to see from this picture if this will fit the NX650 forks?
