Hello, this is my first post here so any feedback is appreciated.
I 've started a rebuild on my bike and i had my ups and downs but time has come to tackle the water pump, i was lucky enough to find an almost new water pump axle and impeller but the water pump seal has me confused. I wanted to ask if anyone has experimented with mechanical seals from different bikes and had success because here in Greece mechanical seals with the code: 19217-P72-014 are being sold as AX seals but after a google search this seal is used for a cbr125 (The price difference is 50 euros for an original and a cbr125 seal so i am wondering if its worth it or it will just leak)
Thanks in advance

Re: AX-1 water pump mechanical seal
Hi,
welcome to the club. According to CMS https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-nx250-ax-1- ... 217pa5003/# there are original replacement parts for the water pump mechanical seal. The latest is actually the one for the CBR125 https://www.cmsnl.com/products/seal-mec ... 217p72013/ So AX1/NX250 and CBR125 actually seem to have the same mechanical seal. Another question would be whether you should use an aftermarket seal. Original parts bought directly in Japan from Webike are cheap https://www.webike.de/products/24335537.html and it's quick (approx. 8-10 days). If you need more information about purchasing from webike, please let me know.
Cheers, Michael
