NX650 Wirth spring

Beitrag von oblik »

Hello everyone,

I have a NX650 RD02 Dominator and I've just bought a second hand pairs of WIRTH fork spring and I'm a bit lost with them... I need some information before installing them, I hope you will be able to help me :)

First:

1. What kind of SAE I need to use for wirth spring ? ( I ride offroad )
2. What's the correct amount of oil I need to put into each Fork's tube?
3. What's the normal size/minimum size of the Wirth spring? (I've mesure mine it's 61 cm, is it normal?)
4. What's the correct way to put the sring into the forks? The thighten part up or down into the fork's tube ?

I hope you will be able to help me, because it's very hard to me to find these informations :/

Hi,
welcome to the club - so, where do you come from :) ?

the wirth springs are supposed to be 600mm long viewtopic.php?p=21665#p21665
same lenght as stock viewtopic.php?p=23989 so you have to use the short tubes on top (nr 8 on the pic https://images.cmsnl.com/img/partslists ... 0_e536.gif )

Wirth says 592ccm SAE10 for each fork leg https://www.wirth-federn.de/produkt/wir ... a-u-ie-kb/ , same as stock. Than check the oil level, should be 160mm according to Wirth. Which is strange, Honda says 120mm

Do you have the Wirth operating instructions? You could scan it and I can help with the translation.

?? sring? the springs are mounted this way according to the Honda manual

Thank's for your quick and very clear reply !!!
I'm from Belgium but I've just moved 1 month ago near Paris area.

Ok cool to heard that the original length is 600mm because on wirth's website I've only found this page:
https://www.wirth-federn.de/produkt/yss ... v-modelle/
And it was written 660 mm... so I was scared than my springs were already dead

No, I don't have any operating instructions, I just bought them second hand ... And the seller told me that it was Hyperpro springs into the forks tubes... but it's not ...

Yes I was talking about how to correctly put the SPRING into the fork, because I think that with the YSS Spring you need to put them upside down ( I thighten part UP )

yes, because the YSS springs are longer. I have now found the Wilbers instructions, where the oil level is 140mm. Unfortunately, the amount of fork oil is not specified here either. Therefore you just have to fill it until you reach 140mm.
