Well.. the best advise isn't always the nicest.
Then I will have to go look for some experience.

How much does a swingarm flex to the left and right?
Luckily I do have some car mechanics around me who maybe have the needed insight.
I'm not giving up on this thing.. maybe the washers isn't a bad idea.. I can always try and see how it reacts.
A local bike shop should be knowledgeable enough for this?
Maybe I can try to connect to other nx250 owners in my own country..

Been a while, had some adventures with my work.
In the meantime we've picked up the second bike. What a beauty.
This mermaid runs great. And guess what, the seller forgot to mention it does have a 17" rear wheel. So that's awesome too!

About the other bike, can it still be the CDI if it sparks?
I would like to check everything I can off before I send it to a mechanic.

it's a beauty Besides the 17'' rear wheel it also has a Bandit shock - two thumps up . You could try a new spark plug, we just had the case that a spark plug failed.

Hi there,

I have tried a new spark plug. Didn't work.
Managed to take off the carburateur.
Wauw, it looks so clean.
The idle adjuster is quite stuck and won't turn anymore.
The needle is also a little bend.
So the reason it won't start doesn't involve a dirty carb.
What is the best next step?

Did you try another CDI?
As I was driving last year suddenly the motor jerked shortly and got off.
I changed the CDI and it ran directly.
Check also spark plug connector and ignition coil (if you have another).

I will try this when I have put everything back together.
I had the carb laying dismantled for a while and I can't seem to remember where this little 2 ringed metal piece belongs?
Any help?

the first item is the holder of the overfloat tube (see viewtopic.php?t=1306 ) the second the float valve (nr 16 https://images.cmsnl.com/img/partslists ... 0_2082.gif )

Alright, got the carb back onto the engine except for all the cables and hoses.
Which is going to be a little challenge for me.

I also changed the CDI's of the two.
The one from the nx where this topic is about is probably a Chinese invention.

So.. I have a clean carb.
Hoses which weren't layed in the correct position.
It fired up only at the test drive, where the seller first pumped the throttle 3 times to "prime" the carb.
Has he maybe used quickstarter?
What's up with the CDI?
The other one is a Shingdengen.
Which also gave me the impression it might need some observing into because the light on the tacho that indicates neutral ever more often keeps glowing, even in gear.
So I will continue putting it back together and try it with the Shingdengen.

Yeah, that`s a chinese CDI intented for the NX650, without sidestand switch.

If the indicator light is glowing, the sensor or the cable connections are corroded - but it should still fire up.
