engine paint?
Has anyone got any recommendations for black engine enamel to match the NX/AX1? Various products are available but it would be good to know of one which blends well with the original. I'm only touching up certain areas so no need to paint the entire engine..

Re: engine paint?
Good question – I wish I would know
Its a silky gloss, most heat resistant paints are way too glossy. dupli-color supertherm is close, but it’s rather silk-matt. Its ok for repairing small dots I guess.

Re: engine paint?
We have Duplicolor here in the UK, along with VHT, Por 15, Hycote and various others. Like you say, they seem to vary between super glossy or low sheen matt....the AX1 is somewhere in between
There's a company near me who make specialist auto paints to order. They have a gadget that measures the gloss level but they'd want too much money to make up a batch and I only need a small amount to do the top edge of the left hand crankcase. I may try some Humbrol enamel on top of some etch primer. Humbrol do a huge range of enamels in small pots, mainly for the model-making market, but I've had good results with their stuff for touching up bicycles and other bits and pieces. I doesn't have to be a very high temp paint (eg. exhaust header etc.) so perhaps some plain old enamel will be good enough...should be salt resistant too.
