On my newly purchased AX1 viewtopic.php?t=915, the rear wheel locked up on the first test drive, suddenly and without warning. Since I already overhauled the brake caliper all that was left was the master brake cylinder, which looked clean on the outside and inside and was therefore not disassembled. The 1/2'' Nissin brake cylinder is standard on Honda and is used on a large number of models. Only the connections for the brake fluid reservoir and the length of the push rod differ.

But you can easily disassemble and clean the brake cylinder yourself. To disassemble you need a snap ring pliers and a good screwdriver - otherwise the small screw is quickly destroyed. As a seal set you can either use one from Honda https://www.cmsnl.com/products/piston-s ... 520mj6315/ or from Tourmax (MSR 103) https://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_from =R ... =0&_sop=15

A brown mush was found in the removed brake cylinder - the return spring was rusted - which then clogged the small vent hole. As a result, the brake fluid could no longer flow back and the brake caliper blocked.

So the brake cylinder had to be cleaned, the best way to do that is with ultrasonic cleaning. The small vent hole must be free again.

Grease the new brake piston with some brake cylinder paste, ready for use.
