Hello all, New to the forum but experienced with the NX250 :)
i recently moved to Germany (looking fowards to meeting you all in domitreffen :D ) and after some months i finally got myself a NX250 again.

I already own a 1988 NX250 MD21 and love it but i left it back home in California.
I decided to get another NX250 for the moment here in Germany so i found one picked it up in Karlsruhe 2 weeks ago and have been using it ever since.

I got a 1991 NX250 MD25 California model (imported to Germany) with 22000 MIles (36000kms) on it.
The bike has all the smog emissions devices removed already and seems to run fine but as this is my first MD25 i have some questions.
I do know the MD21 has more PS so what are is the top speeds i can expect from a MD25? I was getting about 150km\h on my MD21 maxed out.
What top speeds are all you guys getting on your MD25's?
not that i will be running the bike all day like that  I just wanna get a feel for what shape my engine is in.

also what mileage are you getting with the MD25?
i have only tanked 3 times but i am averaging about 3,5lt/100km (68MPG), fast driving (about 100-110km/h) but not any hard acceleration or aggressive driving.

Any one else in Rhein-Neckar area? :D i wanna get back into adventure riding.
I have taken my first NX250 all over Baja California Mexico and am looking into traveling Europe with my new one :)

Hi,
welcome to the board ;) ;-). Moving from California to rainy Germany - that must be a toughy. Concerning the top speed - there are MD25 that run very well, too, but (real) 135km/h is pretty much the most you'll get. The mileage of the MD25 is pretty much the same. Rhein-Neckar isn't that much away from my place, I'm pretty busy right now with other stuff, but maybe we'll get a late summer southwest NX250 tour together.
Cheers, Michael

Update:

MD21 and MD25 are almost identical, the important difference being the smaller bore and displacement of the MD25 engine. But the MD21 was also built with 239 cm3 (e.g. for France), why Honda in 1990 suddenly made the new MD25 type out of it, nobody knows. Even stranger: in 1990 and 1993 both MD21 and MD25 were produced. On the table are the engine differences that are known to me.
