You could first try “contact spray” (I don’t know if this is actually the right term - I mean something like that http://www.ebay.de/itm/16-80-1l-Caramba ... Sw~uhUnpo9) spraying into the switch.
If it’s only rust or dirt and old grease that may help. If the contacts are worn out probably not – I had this at ca 80.000km when the contact spray did not work anymore.
I got a used switch then – but they are hard to get and expensive. That’s the only one I can find right now http://www.bike-teile.de/index.php?seit ... id=1495228#
New ones are still available, not that cheap, too http://www.cmsnl.com/products/sw-assy-l ... 150kw3000/ but they will last a long time

When I changed the handlebars, I sprayed the "contact spray" (https://www.amazon.de/Nigrin-72226-Kont ... B008BSW2TU) very well inside the switch. JUST A MIRACLE!!!! Thanks so, so, so much!

A new source for original Shindengen popped up https://www.ebay.de/itm/CDI-Steuergerat ... SwGIRXatG~. They are sold with the label Sun, but under the label you will find Shindengen.

Finally – no more experiments with China or other aftermarket cdis :) .

I'm afraid to say that the "German" cdi is just the ordinary Chinese sold for big bucks :(

I didn’t try the Russian CDI because my theory (and so far I haven’t been proven wrong) is that there is no aftermarket CDI especially designed for the NX250. It would be too expensive to produce. All aftermarket CDIs I have seen so far are either Chinese or taken from other bikes, and also from China. You can get them for 5$. That’s why apparently a lot of people think they can make some fast money if they sell those CDIs for 40 or much more $.
Now a friend of mine bought a Russian CDI and gave me this info. First of all, the size is different – so it’s very likely a CDI from another Honda. That is confirmed because the CDI did not work and the supplier suggested that the wiring has to be changed (see his drawing below). That happens if the CDI was intended for a bike with side stand switch.
Conclusion: still the only CDI I would recommend is the shindengen ;)
